Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann reveals 'pressure' of cancer diagnosis
The 46 year old was diagnosed with skin cancer last year - but has since made a full recovery
Doncaster manager Grant McCann has revealed he was diagnosed with skin cancer last year.
The 46-year-old former Northern Ireland international underwent surgery for malignant melanoma, just months after leading Rovers to the League Two title.
McCann, who has made a full recovery, told BBC Sheffield: “If I want to talk about pressure, it came on me Christmas time last year when the doctor came to the training ground to tell me I had malignant melanoma, which is skin cancer.
“Fortunately I’m OK now, but possibly I could have had five to six weeks to live.
“Pressure for me is really making sure I’m OK, my family’s all right.”
