Fire crews in Sheffield have tackled a large warehouse blaze near Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

Ten crews from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene last night (2 January) on Meadowhall Road.

People living nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed - with no reports of injuries.

In an update just before midnight, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We have now reduced the number of fire engines on scene from 10 to six, but expect to be in attendance for several hours yet.

"Well done to firefighters, officers, Control staff and our emergency service partners for their ongoing response to this incident."
