Fabio Tavares signs for Rotherham United
Rotherham United have announced a new signing,
Attacker Fabio Tavares has signed, after his contract at Burton Albion expired.
A Statement from the club said: "Rotherham United are delighted to announce attacker Fabio Tavares as the club’s first signing of the summer, subject to EFL and FA ratification.
"The 25-year-old has penned a two-year deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium following the expiration of his contract with Sky Bet League One outfit Burton Albion this summer.
"The Portuguese forward, who began his footballing journey with Rochdale, can call upon notable EFL experience in the form of three seasons in the second tier with Coventry City and more recently, 35 outings for the Brewers last term.
"The Porto-born operator has an eye for goal, too, having netted eight in all competitions for Burton Albion in 2025/26 with a further 10 for his aforementioned previous employers.
"Tavares’ arrival marks the first domino to topple as part of the hard work taking place behind-the-scenes to recruit a new squad of players between Head of Football Steve McClaren and Rob Scott and his team.
"Everyone at Rotherham United would like to welcome Fabio to the club and wish him all the best for his stay in South Yorkshire."
