Sheffield Eagles have unveiled their third signing of the rugby league off-season, with the capture of York Knights forward Conor Fitzsimmons.

The 27 year old has penned a two year deal at the South Yorkshire club.

He started his career with Castleford in 2016, also spending time at Workington Town and Newcastle Thunder.

He has helped York reach the Championship playoffs in the last three years.

Speaking to the Eagles website, Fitzsimmons said: “I pride myself on hard-work, I think that’s every middle’s job. I like to work hard for the team and do the little things well under pressure.

“It’s well known that Sheffield didn’t have a great year last season, they’ve always been fighting for the playoffs for as long as I’ve known, so that will be the goal coming in for next season.”
