Sheffield Eagles sign half-back Jordan Abdull on a permanent deal
The former England international joins team on a two-and-a-half-year contract
Sheffield Eagles have announced the signing of half-back Jordan Abdull from Widnes Vikings on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Abdull, 30, initially joined the Eagles on a one-month loan just two weeks ago and has made a big impact, scoring a try and earning Player of the Match on debut against Salford R.L.F.C.
He has made over 120 Betfred Super League appearances during his career, playing for Hull FC, Hull KR, London Broncos, and Catalans Dragons.
Abdull missed Sunday’s championship clash against his former club but is expected to be in contention when the Eagles play Workington Town this weekend.
Speaking to the Eagles website Abdull said: “I’m happy to get it sorted. Widnes have allowed me to take this opportunity, so I’d like to thank them first and foremost."
“For the next couple of years, I’ll be trying my best to guide the team around the field, but in the short term, I’m really looking forward to building some connections with the team, and the fans too.”
