Appeal launched after woman killed in crash on Dronfield Bypass

Police have launched an appeal for information after a woman who was hit by a car on the Dronfield Bypass yesterday died in hospital.

The collision happened on the Northbound carriageway just before the Bowshaw Roundabout at around 5:20am.

The woman, who was walking along the road, was struck by a Hyundai Ioniq.

The victim was in her 40s and from the Sheffield area.

The driver of the car is helping officers with their investigation.

Detectives are now urging anyone who was driving on either side of that section of the A61 between 4.45am and 5.22am with dashcam footage to get in touch.
