Two further arrests made after Doncaster shooting
Police are still investigating after shots were fired in Edlington last week
Detectives investigating an incident where shots were fired in Doncaster have made two further arrests.
The incident, on Gordon Road in Edlington was reported at 10.16pm on August 21.
No injuries were reported at the time.
Today (August 25) two men aged 23 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They remain in police custody as enquiries continue.
Previously, two other men aged 37 and 27, were arrested on Sunday evening but have been released on police bail pending further investigation.
Detective Inspector Claire Moss, of South Yorkshire Police's Armed Crime Team, said:
“No one was injured during the shooting on Gordon Road, but the outcome could easily have been much worse.
“The reality is that people carrying guns on our streets puts the lives of innocent people in danger.
“We won’t stop until we get to the bottom of what happened on Friday – and you could form an important part of that.
“If you have information that could help us but are yet to come forward, I urge you to do so.
“Now is not the time to stay silent on gun crime. If you don’t want to speak to police, you can report completely anonymously to Crimestoppers. They won’t ask for your details and no one will know you have contacted them.”
