Doncaster Reform UK councillor dissolves aviation company which saw him booted from party

A Reform UK councillor in Doncaster has dissolved the aviation company which got him booted from the party, Companies House records show.
Thorne and Moorends councillor David Knight was suspended from Reform UK in October 2025 following the establishment of ‘Fly Doncaster (Auxiliary Services) Ltd’ – which he’d hoped would eventually do business with a reopened Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA).
However, business records show Fly Doncaster (Auxiliary Services) Ltd, was voluntarily dissolved and struck off the register on August 11, 2026.
Coun Knight said the decision was for “eliminating any conflicts of interest between ourselves and City of Doncaster Council”, who are reopening DSA with public funds.
His business controversially shared much of its name with Fly Doncaster Ltd – the “arms-length” company set up by the Council to run DSA upon its reopening.
Coun Knight said: “We need to give 110 per cent to residents and visitors of Doncaster without any conflict of interest.”
The former taxi driver said it was a personal decision to dissolve the company, and was not instructed to do so by Reform UK.
Coun Knight was re-admitted to the party in December 2025, whilst the company was still registered on Companies House, “pending a formal review”.
He said dissolving his company followed an earlier decision in March 2026 where he ended all contractual work with Doncaster Council, which he said he’d been doing for 30 years.
