Victim of Doncaster murder investigation named as 'cherished' man Wayne Solomon
The 55-year-old was killed earlier this week
The family of a man who was fatally stabbed in Doncaster have paid tribute to his "kindness, warmth and sense of humour".
On Wednesday (24 June), at 10.54pm, officers attended Galsworthy Close to reports of an injured man.
Wayne Solomon, aged 55, was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital where he sadly died.
His family continue to be supported by our officers.
Following formal identification, Wayne's family have paid tribute to him - they said:
"Wayne wasn’t just loved, he was cherished. His kindness, warmth and sense of humour made him unforgettable, and he will remain in our hearts forever."
Officers arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of murder, possession of an offensive weapon, dangerous driving, and robbery. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood said:
"Our investigation into Wayne's death is continuing at pace and we are continuing to appeal for information which can assist or enquiries.
"His family are currently having to come to terms with the unimaginable loss of Wayne in the most devastating of circumstances. We remain committed to providing answers for his loved ones and securing justice for them. Our thoughts are with the many people who knew and loved him."
