Cannabis farm worth £700,000 discovered in former shop in Dinnington
549 plants and 223 saplings spread across nine rooms were seized
Officers have dismantled a large-scale cannabis farm that was discovered inside a former shop premises in Dinnington earlier this month.
The farm, with an estimated street value of £700,000, was uncovered on Tuesday 16th December after a utility worker executed a warrant at the property on Laughton Road due to disconnected electrics.
Inside, 549 mature cannabis plants and 223 saplings were found across nine rooms. Makeshift bedrooms were also discovered as part of the setup.
Temporary Inspector Dean McLaughlin of South Yorkshire Police said:
“Cannabis is not a harmless drug. It helps fund organised crime which wreaks misery on innocent members of our local communities."
"It is important that these harmful grows are dismantled to not only stop the supply of drugs onto our streets but also ensure residents aren't negatively impacted.”
