Two Derbyshire Police call handlers have been charged with misconduct in public office amid allegations they passed information to criminals.

Jessica Fitzhugh, 22, of Belper, and Ellie-Mae Doherty, 21, of Ripley, allegedly accessed police systems in 2023 and 2024 and passed sensitive information on to third parties.

They also failed to inform the force they were associated with other people involved in criminality.

Fitzhugh is also accused of taking images of data held on police systems without authority.

It follows an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The pair are due before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
