Rotherham United assistant manager Dale Tonge has left the club.

The 40 year old, who played in midfield for the Millers between 2007 and 2013, was brought back to South Yorkshire last June to assist the now-sacked Matt Hamshaw.

He's now been let go following the appointment of Lee Clark as first team manager last week.

Manager Lee Clark said: “I would like to personally thank Dale on his help in making it easy for me to settle into the club. He is a terrific person and a top coach.”

The Millers are 22nd in League One and six points from safety, with eight games of the season remaining.
