Police issue CCTV appeal after teenage girl raped in Sheffield
The attack happened near Cat Lane in Gleadless Valley earlier this month
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they're looking for after a teenage girl was raped in Sheffield.
Officers received a call on June 18, reporting that the victim had been attacked near Cat Lane in Gleadless Valley at around 5:25pm.
CCTV checks and house to house enquiries have lead to a man being identified who police want to speak to.
He is described as black, of large build and around 5ft 6in tall.
He was wearing dark burgundy trousers, a black hooded jacket, a black rucksack, and white trainers with grey or black markings.
Superintendent Martin Simcock of South Yorkshire Police said:
“We understand that news of this incident will cause concern in the local area and we are utilising every resource we have at our disposal as enquiries continue.
“This includes officers who will be available to people in the community during patrols designed to prevent further offences.
“If you were in the area at the time and saw someone matching the description of the man in this image, please get in touch with us. He could hold important information which may help us progress our investigation.”
