81 fines issued over illegal car cruising event in Bolsover
Bolsover District Council says its taken action over a car meet which happened on the A617 back in March
81 drivers have been fined over an illegal large-scale car meet in Bolsover back in March,
The event happened on the A617 at Doe Lea on March 28, with a large number of vehicles seen driving in convoy, stopping and revving engines, with spectators also lining the route.
Bolsover District Council were bale to use CCTV evidence to trace many of the vehicles involved, with some drivers now being investigated by police.
Councillor Clive Moesby, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Enforcement for Bolsover District Council said: “Nuisance car cruising has a serious impact on local communities, causing fear, disruption and risk to public safety."
"The significant number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued following this incident demonstrates our commitment to taking robust action against those who choose to ignore the law.
"We will continue to work closely with our police partners to identify offenders and take firm enforcement action.”
