Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in South Yorkshire tell us they've 'struggled' with 'financial pressures' in 2025.

This year - the running costs at the North Anston based charity have come to £6.7 million.

The Chief Executive there is Heidi Hawkins:

"We are the only children's hospice that provides services for all of South Yorkshire.

"This can only be done through predominantly charitable donations and all of our fundraising support.

"We constantly are going to need any support we can get going into the future.

"The cost of living is just increasing all the time.

"Things have changed fundamentally since Covid-19 as well - people are more under pressure than they once were financially, so it's harder to find fundraisers and get donations.

"We need to be able to attract and keep all of our best colleagues who can help delivering our key services at Bluebell Wood.

"We get a little over £1 million from the NHS - and the rest of that we have to fundraise ourselves.

"However, we are able to provide that really, really intensive and bespoke care to families - but that will only continue if we are able to keep on meeting turnover costs.
