Sheffield United midfielder Jaïro Riedewald has agreed to a new one year deal with Blades.
The former Ajax and Crystal Palace man joined the Championship team in October, initially for one month, before having his deal extended until the end of the season.
Discussions over the summer have now yielded a more permanent contract for the 29 year old, with an option for a further year.
Boss Chris Wilder said: "Everyone here holds Jaïro in the highest regard, his performances last year were excellent, and I am delighted he'll be part of the new journey.
"I have to say the board have been great. They knew I wanted Jaïro here and made it possible for the dialogue to continue and thankfully patience has paid off on both sides.
"It has just taken a little longer to get there but we're all thrilled he's staying with us."
