86 year old man and 84 year old woman seriously injured in Barnsley crash

A man and a woman in their 80s have been seriously injured in a crash in Barnsley, with police now appealing for witnesses.

Officers were called to Barnsley Road at the junction with Dearne Hall Road at 1:39pm on Tuesday (November 11) after a white Volkswagen Crafter and a blue Volkswagen Polo were involved in a collision.

The driver of the Polo, an 86 year old man. remains in hospital while an 84 year old woman, who was a passenger, has also been treated by medics.

Anyone who saw what happened or who captured dashcam footage in the area at the time is being urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.
