Barnsley born John Stones is understood to have verbally agreed to join Inter Milan on a free transfer.

The England defender's representatives are expected to finalise terms with the Italian club over a two-year contract.

Stones has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus after leaving Manchester City.

He started his career playing locally for Penistone Church FC before joining the Barnsley academy.
