Attempted murder investigation underway in Chesterfield
A man in his 30s was found with serious injuries in the Brimington area this morning
An attempted murder investigation is underway following a reported assault in Chesterfield.
Emergency services were called to a property in Cross Street in the Brimington area of the town at 10.39am this morning (Sunday 19th July 2026).
A man in his 30s was found nearby with serious injuries. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.
A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said:
"We were called to reports of an assault at a property in Cross Street, Brimington, at 10.39am on Sunday 19 July.
"A man in his 30s who had suffered serious injuries was located nearby and has been taken to hospital. However, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
"A woman in her 30s was also located shortly afterwards. She has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
"A scene is currently in place while investigations into the incident take place."
