Appeal for information following Doncaster rape
An investigation is getting underway after a woman reported that she was raped in Doncaster.
Police were called just after 2am on Saturday morning to Mexborough.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Susannah Wagstaff said:
"We know that news of this incident will cause concern in our local communities but I want to reassure you that we have a team of detectives working hard to progress this investigation.
"While officers conduct their enquiries, anyone who might have information about this incident is asked to contact us online or on 101, quoting incident number 85 of 2 May 2026."
