02 Academy in Sheffield set to reopen in 2027 after major renovation work
The iconic venue - which was once Roxy and the Top Rank Suite - has been closed for the past three years

One of the largest music venues in Sheffield is set to reopen next year.
The O2 academy, which was also once Roxy and the Top Rank Suite, has been closed since 2023 after crumbling concrete was found in parts of the building.
AMG are the firm which owns the venue, they say its had a massive refurb, with state of the art new air conditioning and a new sound system.
A statement on the venues Instagram page said:
"#O2AcademySheffield is officially back. Did you miss us? 🪩
"We’re hoisting up the mirror ball once again and will be reopening in February 2027.
"From the installation of a new roof, to air-conditioning and extensive interior works, we can’t wait to open our doors again and continue to create incredible live music memories with you.
"Previously we’ve hosted iconic gigs from the likes of The Prodigy, The Human League, and Blondie, to more recent names including Self Esteem, The Killers, Stormzy, and Wolf Alice."
