Family of missing Weston-super-Mare man found dead on M5 thank community for support

A body believed to be that of 52-year-old Scott Morris who went missing in July was found on the motorway last Friday

The family of a missing man who was found dead on the M5 near Somerset have thanked the community for their support.

Scott Morris, 52, from Weston-super-Mare, had been missing since 23 July.

A body believed to be Scott's was found on the motorway near Burnham-on-Sea last Friday (7 August).

In a statement issued by Avon and Somerset Police today Scott's family said:

"They wish to thank the local community and people for their support in looking for Scott.

"They said this is an incredibly difficult time for everyone who knew and loved Scott and they have respectfully asked people respect their privacy."
