West Deeping crash leaves man seriously injured before second incident leads to arrests
Three arrests in total have been made
Lincolnshire Police are dealing with two incidents in West Deeping after a man in his 20s was seriously injured in a collision.
Officers say they later arrested two people after a car hit the road closed sign put up as collision investigation work was ongoing.
Emergency services were first called to the junction of the A1175 Stamford Road and King Street just after 7.45am on Tuesday morning (2 June).
Three vehicles were involved — a black Lexmoto motorcycle, a black Nissan NP300, and a white Volkswagen Touareg.
Police say the motorcycle rider and the driver of the Volkswagen were both travelling in the direction of Market Deeping, while the Nissan was heading towards Tallington.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
One of the drivers, a 28-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by careless or inconsiderate driving and obstructing police. He remains in custody.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said:
“Road closures were put in place following the collision to allow medical care and to enable an investigation into the cause of the collision to start. It is vitally important that anyone needing medical care receives it as soon as possible and also that officers are able to secure and preserve evidence at the scene.”
Two more arrests
Police then say just after midday, officers saw a blue Vauxhall Astra collide with one of the road closure signs put up.
The driver, a 26-year-old woman, then reportedly turned the vehicle around and drove off.
A short pursuit ensued as the driver failed to stop.
The car eventually stopped at the level crossing on Main Road in Tallington as train barriers came down.
The driver has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, driving over the legal drink drive limit, and theft of a motor vehicle.
A passenger, a 39-year-old man, has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Both remain in custody.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information on either incidents to call 101, quoting incident 76 of 2 June 2026.
