Armed police called to reported knife incident in Rutland as teen arrested

A teenager has been arrested in Rutland after police received reports of a man threatening a member of the public whilst carrying a knife.

Armed officers were called to the scene on High Street East in Uppingham at around 9.15pm on Friday.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of:

  • possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place
  • using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence
  • and assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty

He's currently on bail as investigations continue.
