Two women arrested after crash in Rutland
A man has been injured
2 people have been arrested in connection with a serious collision in Rutland.
It took place just before 7 o clock yesterday morning.
Police found a man with a significant injuries on the A606 between Empingham and Stamford.
He's receiving treatment for head, leg and pelvic injuries, although they're not believed to be life-threatening.
A black Audi believed to have been involved in the collision was later found abandoned in Oakham.
Two women in their 20s have been arrested and remain in custody
Two women – both aged 20 – have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving, drink driving and failing to stop at the scene.
Both remain in custody.
PC Ellise Timmins, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “While two people have been arrested, our investigation is very much continuing and I’m appealing for anyone who can help to get in touch.
“I’d like to speak to anyone who saw the collision occur, but particularly any motorists with a dashcam who captured it or who saw a black Audi Q2 beforehand.
“Anything you can provide could assist our investigation.”
