Two charged with murder of man found dead in River Nene
A post-mortem has given a preliminary cause of death as drowning.
Two 19-year-old men have been charged in connection with the murder of Conor Kinlan in Peterborough.
Conor’s body was discovered in the River Nene on 24th January and a postmortem investigation has given a preliminary cause of death as drowning.
Thomas McShane, of Collier Mews, Paston, Peterborough, faces charges of murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a class B drug.
He appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on 31st January and has been remanded into custody to appear at Cambridge Crown Court tomorrow (3rd February).
Cole Mackaness, of Baden Powell Way, Wellingborough, has also been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court this morning (2nd February) and, like McShane, has been remanded to appear at Cambridge Crown Court tomorrow.
An 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Peterborough were arrested yesterday (1st February). The man was detained on suspicion of murder and the woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
A 19-year-old man, who was previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail and must return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on 29th April.
