Third man charged with the murder of Conor Kinlan in Peterborough
18-year-old Jordanas Prismontas joins two others already charged in connection with the death
A third man has been charged with the murder of Conor Kinlan, whose body was discovered in the River Nene, Peterborough, on 24th January.
Jordanas Prismontas, 18, of Fulbridge Road, Peterborough, was arrested on Sunday (1st February) and has now been charged with murder.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates' Court today (4th February).
Two other men have already been charged in connection with Conor's death.
Thomas McShane, 19, of Collier Mews, Paston, Peterborough, has been charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a class B drug.
He appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Saturday (31st January) and was remanded in custody to appear at Cambridge Crown Court tomorrow (3rd February).
Cole Mackaness, 19, of Baden Powell Way, Wellingborough, was arrested on Friday evening and charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Monday morning (2nd February) and was also remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court tomorrow.
Other arrests in the investigation
The investigation has also seen the arrests of others in connection with Conor's death.
An 18-year-old man from Peterborough, arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday (1st February), remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
An 18-year-old woman, also from Peterborough, was arrested on Sunday (1st February) on suspicion of assisting an offender. She is currently in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man who had been arrested last week on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail. He is due to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on 29th April.
Following a postmortem investigation carried out on Friday (30th January), Coroner's officials have said the preliminary cause of Conor Kinlan’s death was drowning.
