The family of a teenager who died in a fatal collision in Cambridge has paid tribute to him.

Holton Knott, 19, died when his black Honda 599cc motorcycle was involved in a collision with a silver Jaguar XF.

It happened at about 8.50pm on Tuesday, 11 August, on the A1309, High Street, Trumpington, outside the Green Man pub.

Holton, of Doddington Road, Chatteris, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital but died there the following day (12 August).

The Jaguar driver, a 69-year-old man from Cambridge, was uninjured and arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving.

He has been bailed until 11 November

Holton’s parents said in a statement: “On the evening of 11 August, we received the unimaginable news that our darling boy was involved in a horrific accident.

“After a great effort from all the team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, it was clear Holton wasn't going to survive. We appreciate the kind-hearted messages and offers of support by many a friend and family member. Thanks again for your support in these tough times.

“Unfortunately Holton gained his wings at 11am on Wednesday. Forever 19 and forever loved.”

Officers are still appealing for information and dashcam footage from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles in the time leading up to it.
