Teenage motorcyclist dies after head-on crash with another motorbike in Peterborough

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward

A teenage motorcyclist has died following a head-on crash with another motorbike in Peterborough.

The 19-year-old man, from Peterborough, was riding a blue Yamaha MT-03 when the crash happened in Stanham Way, near Cardea, at about 5.20pm on 31st August.

He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital, where he died on Tuesday 1st September.

What happened

Police said the Yamaha was involved in a head-on crash with a black BMW S1000 motorbike.

The rider of the BMW, a 32-year-old man from London, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

He was also taken to Peterborough City Hospital.

Appeal for witnesses

An investigation has been launched, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with details, including dash cam footage, is asked to report it online or by calling 101, quoting Op Michigan or incident 321 of 31st August.
