Spalding is marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War
Pinchbeck Community Hub are hosting a street party today
People in Spalding are joining the country's VE Day celebrations with a street party.
Pinchbeck Community Hub are hosting the event and hope people will share stories from the war.
I think it's more important to remember than it's been in a very long time
It's a chance for people to come together, hear stories of those who were there and remember those who gave their lives.
Organiser of the event John Smith said:
I think it's important that we just keep refreshing people's memories
"I think it's important that we just keep refreshing people's memories of what people have done for us and what happened in the past."
"It's an opportunity to say thank you."
"Sadly, lots of people who lived through the war are of an age where they might not be with us much longer, and we need to capture as many of those memories and those stories as we can so we can share them with families and children so we don't forget."
"I think it's more important to remember than it's been in a very long time."
"The world is in a very precarious state, and we want our young people to not have to live a life blighted by war."
The street party will start at 12pm and will have music, games and food.
