Christopher Allgood, 53, has been jailed for one year after a spree of assaults at The White Lion Hotel in South Brink.

On 16th April, Allgood, heavily intoxicated, attacked a hotel security guard three times throughout the day.

The first incident saw Allgood punching the guard in the chest.

In a subsequent altercation, he further damaged the guard's body-worn video equipment with a chest punch.

Later in the day, Allgood escalated his aggression, strangling and repeatedly punching the guard.

Additionally, he intimidated another hotel resident, pulling their hair.

Police described Allgood as incoherent and unable to walk properly.

He became abusive upon arrest, punching an officer on the nose and spitting in the police van.

At Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 5th May, Allgood, who has no fixed address, admitted intentional strangulation, criminal damage, common assault, and assaulting a constable.

DC Chris Herring said: “Allgood’s behaviour was disgusting as he attacked people and it was a distressing experience for the security guard and member of the public.

"We will not tolerate attacks on our officers and will seek prosecution against those responsible," DC Herring said.
