Scooter rider dies following collision near Upppingham

A Scooter rider has died following a collision near Uppingham.
It happened on the A6003 in Preston yesterday (Sunday 30th March). The rider sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward
Leicestershire Police have said:
"Detectives investigating a fatal collision on the A6003 in Preston yesterday (Sunday 30th March) are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
"The collision occurred just after 12.35am on Uppingham Road (A6003) and involved a single vehicle, a black Aprilia SR GT 1 scooter.
"The scooter was travelling from Preston towards Uppingham when the collision occurred just outside Preston."
Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the scooter being ridden beforehand or witnessed the collision
They are particularly keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles travelling towards Preston immediately after the collision, and a man who stopped and provided emergency first aid to the casualty.
They urge anyone who was in the area at the time to check if they captured any dashcam footage and to get in touch if they can assist.
