Rutland's 191st County Show is hoping to bring together the community
The show celebrates rural life around the county
Organisers of the 191st Rutland County Show say they hope to bring the farming community some joy after a tough year.
It's an annual event in Oakham that showcases all aspects of rural life in the county.
For farmers to be able to come together it can only be a good thing
It includes events such as the Shetland Pony Grand National and Duck herding.
It's a day-long celebration with shows, competitions, demonstrations, local businesses, food and drink stalls.
Sophie, the show director of the event, said:
"It's a massive traditional event within Rutland, and it's become part of the local community."
"I think there's a lot of tough aspects in farming, so for them to have an agricultural show that they can come to is an amazing thing."
"Farming is a very lonely, difficult industry to be in, and a lot of these farmers work on their own all day, every day, so for them to be able to come together can only be a good thing."
For them to have an agricultural show that they can come to is an amazing thing
The Rutland County Show is taking place today at the Rutland Showground with events taking place from 7:30am onwards.
