Residents and visitors encouraged to explore Spalding's hidden gems
It's as a new app to highlight what's happening in the town has been launched
A new app is aiming to make it easier for people in Spalding looking for things to do. The ‘Hello Spalding’ app brings together details about local shops, restaurants and events, all in one place.
Sarah Fletcher from Spalding Business Improvement District says there’s plenty happening in the town – even if it’s not always obvious:
“Spalding has its own people that feel there’s not enough going on,” she says. “But when you start to use the app, you find out there’s much more available.”
The new app is designed for both residents and visitors.
Sarah adds, “If you’re visiting the town, people will be absolutely surprised about the amount of history Spalding has, and also the amount of trails, walks and tours, things that are happening.”
As well as helping people discover what’s on, ‘Hello Spalding’ will also give local businesses a boost.
“A number of the businesses in the town don’t really have a strong digital footprint,” Sarah says. “This will give them an opportunity to promote and market themselves to a much wider audience.”
Printed guides and online resources will also help spread the word about major events this year, including the Spalding Food Safari in June and Big Screen Week in July.
