More than 50 poachers and hare coursers are set to be investigated after incidents in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire over the weekend.

Officers were called out to farmland off Haddon Road after reports of men and children poaching with dogs on Saturday (17th January).

Officers say the group were damaging fields and vehicles.

The National Police Air Service and Cambridgeshire's Rural Crime team tracked the group and blocked off roads to contain them.

They were detained and items, including vehicles, associated with poaching were seized by officers.

40 people were dispersed and will be investigated.

On Sunday, officers were again called out after reports of hare courses driving across fields on Main Drove, Little Downham.

Four men attempted to flee but were found as officers used police drones to track them.

Four dogs were seized and the men were dispersed after being given Community Protection Warnings.
