A 52-year-old woman from Peterborough has been jailed for more than two years after forcing her way into a neighbour’s flat with a knife.

Donna Lloyd approached the flat's door on London Road at around 10:30 am on 25th August last year.

After the occupant initially opened and swiftly shut the door in Lloyd’s face, she began shouting and brandished a knife from her sleeve.

Despite banging persistently on the door, Lloyd managed to force her way in with the knife once the door was opened again, resulting in a scuffle.

The knife was taken from Lloyd during the altercation, and she left before the police were alerted.

Lloyd was arrested, and a search of her flat unveiled small quantities of cannabis and cocaine.

She admitted charges of aggravated burglary, using violence to enter premises, possession of a knife in public, possession of cocaine, and possession of cannabis.

On Wednesday, 18th February, Cambridge Crown Court sentenced Lloyd to 27 months in prison.

DC Lisa Flatters said: “Lloyd’s behaviour that day was completely unacceptable."

“This was a frightening incident for the occupants of the flat, who were confronted in their own home by Lloyd armed with a knife."

“I’m pleased she was apprehended and has now appeared in court.”
