Peterborough United part company with manager Luke Williams
The decision comes after the club's defeat to Doncaster Rovers
Peterborough United have parted company with First Team Manager Luke Williams.
The decision follows the club's 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers yesterday, which left them 23rd in Sky Bet League One.
Posh have won just one of their opening seven games, drawing two and losing four.
The club confirmed the news in a statement, thanking Williams for his efforts during his time at the Weston Homes Stadium.
"This is not a decision the club has taken lightly," the statement said.
The club said the team's form in League One had not matched the Board's expectations, particularly given the significant investment made in the squad.
Peterborough said the Board felt it had no other choice but to make a change following the side's performance against Doncaster Rovers.
The club's existing coaching staff will take charge of the first team squad while the Board considers its next steps.
