A man has been banned from entering eight shops across Peterborough and March for three years.

James Maguire, of Paston, Peterborough, admitted two thefts from shops and one theft from a vehicle in Peterborough.

The 39-year-old was jailed for ten weeks at Huntingdon Magistrate's Court in October.

Maguire was also given a criminal behaviour order (CBO) by Peterborough magistrates on Tuesday (9 October), which bans him from the following shops:

Tesco, in Staniland Way, Werrington, Peterborough

Marks & Spencer, in Brotherhood Retail Park, Walton, Peterborough

Morrisons, in Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough

Co-op, in Oundle Road, Orton Longueville, Peterborough

Boots, in Broad Street, March

Greggs, in Bridge Street, Peterborough city centre

H&M, in Queensgate shopping centre

Superdrug, in Queensgate shopping centre

Sergeant Luke Cooke of Cambridgeshire Police said: “A CBO application was submitted to the courts due to Maguire’s prolific offending which has a great impact on those he targets.

“The order gives us greater powers to tackle his offending, as we will be able to arrest with every breach.”
