Date set for Peterborough's Christmas lights switch-on
It'll take place in Cathedral Square
It's been announced that Peterborough's Christmas lights will be switched on in Cathedral Square on Friday 20 November.
Festivities will run from around 5pm until 7.30pm, with the lights expected to be switched on at around 7pm.
St John's Church in Cathedral Square will also be open until 9pm, with toilets, refreshments and a quieter space available during the event.
The city's Christmas tree will be chosen by Councillor Zameer Ali, the cabinet member for Communities and Public Safety.
He said about the switch-on: “It’s one of the biggest events in our calendar, and part of a fantastic selection of attractions for the city for Christmas 2026, one of the best in years.
“Our festive proceedings will start in real style on 20 November but it’s just part of a packed schedule of events in what will be a very busy and enjoyable time.”
