A swimming club hopes a new sports quarter planned for Peterborough will help link up with other clubs in the area.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirmed backing for a new pool and sports facilities in the government's spending review this week.

Ben Negus is the head coach at City of Peterborough Swimming Club, left without a home since RAAC was discovered in the city's regional pool.

He said: "We can also have other sports and cohesion in the city and that's something that's not been known for a long time.

"Sports hall, climbing walls are all something that could potentially happen in that venue."
