Peterborough man jailed for drug dealing and assault on police officer
Christian Grigore caught with cocaine and heroin during patrol stop in Millfield
A 20-year-old man from Peterborough has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being caught with class A drugs and assaulting a police officer.
Christian Grigore, of Clarence Road, Millfield, was spotted acting suspiciously by officers on patrol on Oxford Road on 30 July. When he noticed the police, he attempted to walk away from the two women he was with.
Officers stopped and searched Grigore, discovering 17 wraps of suspected class A drugs.
Following his arrest, a further search in custody revealed another nine wraps. Laboratory tests later confirmed the packages contained cocaine and heroin with a street value of up to £260.
During his time in custody, Grigore also spat at a police officer.
He admitted charges of possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, as well as assault by beating an emergency worker.
On Wednesday, 10 December, Peterborough Crown Court sentenced him to 18 months in prison.
DC Katey Shaw said: “Class A drugs absolutely wreck lives by trapping people in addiction.
“This was a good spot by the officers on patrol who noticed Grigore was acting suspiciously and followed their instincts.
“Drug dealers prey on vulnerable people and we will continue to do all we can to bring them to justice.”
