Peterborough family hub aims to help parents and children thrive
Parents welcome a new centre for support and facilities
A Peterborough parent says the new Gladstone Family Hub is making a real difference for her and her children, helping them move forward in life.
The hub aims to bring services under one roof, making it easier for families to get the help they need.
The centre, which opened in the city this week, has been set up to give families support with parenting, finances and child development, including stay and play sessions.
Nida, who’s been using the new hub, told our reporter Dan Mason:
“I would take my children different areas, playground and any other area, but I think there's all facilities here playing games. Everything is."
"I think it's good for children to play and other, some, the ladies mentioned our vaccinations and everything, so I think, so this is good for us.”
Family Hubs are a partnership of local services for children and families from the NHS, the council and community organisations all working together to make sure that every child is Safe, Confident, Resilient and Ready to learn.
The council say their family hubs bring together multiple organisations into a 'one-stop shop' providing high-quality support support for families with children aged 0-19 or to age 25 for young people with special educational needs.
