Peterborough Eating Disorder Charity Urges People to Reach Out for Support
Personalised Eating Disorder Support is hosting events in Stamford and Peterborough to raise awareness and offer hope to those struggling
An eating disorder charity in Peterborough is encouraging anyone who needs help to reach out and talk.
Personalised Eating Disorder Support is holding events in Stamford and Peterborough this week to highlight the signs of eating disorders and explain how to get support.
Mandy Scott from the charity says:
“It doesn’t matter what your struggles are. Have a chat, reach out, come and see us."
"It’s really about raising awareness that it’s a positive to talk and it’s a strength to reach out and recovery is possible."
"It doesn’t matter duration of symptoms. It doesn’t matter severity of symptoms. If you’ve had a setback, if you’ve had a relapse, there is hope.”
Sue Wilson, also from the charity, said she wants more institutions to understand how to support people:
“We talk to so many people, particularly to school nurses, university nurses, and find out more information and give them direction and guidance in how to support an individual.”
The events are open to anyone who wants to learn more or find support.
