Two drug dealers have been sentenced to prison following their involvement in selling class A drugs in Peterborough.

Nivaldo Silva Sami, 27, and Hubert Berus, 25, admitted offences uncovered during a police investigation which revealed drugs and over £2,000 in cash.

On 19th May, Silva Sami was stopped by police while driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Crabtree, Paston.

During the search, officers discovered 130 wraps of cocaine and heroin worth up to £1,300 hidden under the gear stick sleeve, along with cannabis, £90 cash, and two mobile phones.

Analysis of one phone showed over 300 calls in 11 days to a phone belonging to Berus, as well as messages related to drug dealing.

The following day, police conducted a warrant at Berus's home in Earls Close, Fletton.

They found £2,200 cash and a turquoise Nokia phone linked to drug supply, as well as a machete and a sheet containing details of known drug users.

CCTV footage showed Berus topping up the turquoise deal line phone, confirming his involvement.

Berus confessed to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, and possession of criminal property.

Silva Sami, also admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, heroin, and cannabis.

On 3rd July, both men were sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court, with Berus receiving 54 months and Silva Sami 20 months behind bars.

The £2,200 seized during the investigation was ordered to be donated to six charities.

Detective Constable Paul Baxter commented, “The overwhelming evidence left Berus and Silva Sami little choice but to admit the offences.”

Baxter highlighted the severe harm caused by class A drugs, impacting both individuals and communities.

Police efforts to identify and prosecute those involved in drug supply continue.
