Peterborough cricketer heads Down Under for Over Seventies Ashes

Market Deeping all-rounder Nick Andrews flies out today to represent England in the Over Seventies Ashes series in Australia.
The Peterborough cricketer will join the squad in Adelaide, before heading to New Zealand for the World Cup.
Andrews has already played a key role in helping England win both trophies on home soil.
He says confidence is high, but the team isn’t taking anything for granted:
“Trying to get match fit for Australian conditions in UK at the moment, in the middle of this cold spell and everything that's going on here. It's not been easy, but we are trying to do as much as you can."
"We currently hold the silver ashes and we're fairly confident that we can beat them again."
"But sport plays strange tricks on everybody and we accept that it's not a given and we've got to work hard, play hard, and be at our best to do it,” Nick says.
At seventy-three, nerves and excitement are just as present as ever.
“I've played a lot of cricket, and yeah, I do get a few nerves, but I think any sportsman should get nerves before they play, and I'm no different in that respect, but I'm quietly confident and it's fantastic at this age to be able to look forward to something with a little bit of trepidation, a little bit of nervousness, but also what it can offer as well. I can't wait to be honest.”
Andrews hopes the team can bring the trophies back home once again, determined to give it their all on the international stage.
