A 44-year-old Peterborough man whose alcohol stealing sprees included taking six bottles of Jack Daniels in one go, has been jailed.

Jamie Graham, of Mina Close in Stanground, took more than £200 worth of whisky from a supermarket near Bourges Boulevard on 24 February.

He was spotted a few days later when he stole alcohol worth almost £100 from a store on Oxney Road in Parnwell.

Graham admitted two counts of theft from a shop.

On 4 March, he was jailed at Peterborough Crown Court for 24 weeks and was ordered to pay nearly £300 compensation.

PC Rebecca Risebrow, from Cambridgeshire Police's Spree Offender Team, said: “Graham is a persistent thief who simply strolled into these shops, took what he wanted, and left.

“It is incredibly frustrating for retailers who have to deal with this kind of behaviour.

"I’m pleased he was identified and has now appeared in court for his actions.”
