People of Rutland invited to dementia group
A meeting happens next month
People living with dementia along with family and carers are being invited by Rutland County Council to join its Dementia Participation Group.
The group ensures that the voices of people with lived experience contribute to and influence decision-making.
Councillor Diane Ellison, Cabinet Member for Adults and Health said:
"Co-production is central to the way Rutland County Council develops and improves its dementia services. The Dementia Participation Group gives people with lived experience the opportunity to work alongside us, ensuring their voices help shape the support we provide now and in the future.
“Listening to people who use our services helps us better understand what is working well and where improvements can be made. Alongside the expertise of our Admiral Nurse Team, this partnership enables us to continue to deliver high-quality, person-centred support that helps people live well with dementia and gives carers the advice and reassurance they need.
“I would encourage anyone living with cognitive impairment or dementia, or anyone caring for a loved one, to consider joining the group. By sharing your experiences, you can help shape future services and make a real difference to others in our community."
The next meeting takes place at Uppingham Town Hall on 2nd September 2026 at 2pm.
