A new twenty-four hour mental health crisis text and online chat service is now available for people across Lincolnshire.

ChatHealth, run by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, offers confidential support from trained professionals—making it easier for anyone struggling to reach out for help.

The service is designed to provide an alternative for those who find phone calls or face-to-face conversations difficult, including young people, people with neurodivergent conditions, and those from the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Hannah Anderson from the Trust explained:

"Some people do find it really difficult to talk over the phone, especially making that first step. For example, we know it is often a barrier for young people."

"Some people with neurodivergent conditions like autism can often find it very difficult."

"People with communication difficulties, people from deaf and hard of hearing community."

"This service allows them to access that support where they might have struggled before or even had to rely on other people to access that support for them."

She added, "It bridges a gap for accessing mental health support, provides flexibility for people and helps us to reach those vulnerable groups who, in the past might have struggled to get that support and advice."

"This provides a discreet way for people to talk about things that they might have found difficult to talk about over the phone or face-to-face with people."

ChatHealth is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with dedicated text lines for both adults and young people.

The service aims to make urgent mental health support more accessible, flexible, and discreet for everyone in Lincolnshire.
