Nearly nine hundred people helped by Peterborough crisis payments
More than eight hundred people have received emergency support for food, bills and essential items since the scheme began in April
Nearly nine hundred people in Peterborough have received emergency help through a new crisis payment fund since April.
The Crisis Payment Scheme has supported eight hundred and eighty-one people with payments of either one hundred or one hundred and fifty pounds, depending on the size of their household.
The money can be used to help people through short-term financial difficulty.
So far, the biggest areas of support have been essential items, food, bills and debt, furniture and appliances, and rent or housing costs.
The Government-funded Crisis Resilience Fund has replaced the Household Support Fund.
Peterborough is receiving three point six million pounds a year for three years, with further help also available through community partners, oil crisis payments and housing payments.
