A man has been jailed for running the ‘zip’ drugs line, as part of a police operation.
Officers carried out an early morning raid in Gladwin Crescent, Brampton, on 4 March as part of a week of intensification cracking down on county lines drug dealing.
Crack cocaine and heroin, worth more than £11,500, were found along with a mobile phone linked to the ‘zip’ drugs line.
Levi George, 21, of Kings Ripton Road, Sapley, was arrested at the address, where more than £700 in cash was also found.
At Cambridge Crown Court, on Thursday (7 May), George was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
Detective Constable Clair Godfrey, who investigated, said: “County lines drug dealing brings significant harm to our communities, and we are committed to tackling those responsible. This sentencing demonstrates that those involved in supplying drugs in Cambridgeshire will be identified, arrested and brought before the courts. The proactive work of our officers during this intensification week has removed dangerous substances from the streets and disrupted criminal activity in Huntingdon.”
